Everyone is welcome; parents, children, brothers, sisters, grand-parents, professionals

Baby Wearing is common among most aboriginal cultures. A Baby carrier simulates a transitional womb that maintains the mother/child links built throughout pregnancy, which is essential for the baby's affective development, and allows parents to keep their hands free to continue doing what their normally do.

Closely related to attachment parenting, like breastfeeding, skin-to-skin and co-sleeping, Baby Wearing helps in establishing a trusted sense of communication with our little ones. This calls for a more relaxed and gratifying motherhood/fatherhood experience!

Instead of laying our babies down, we can take them around with us; share our activities, our warmth, our breathing, and our voice.

Let them know that they are part of the family and that we are right there to fulfill their needs. Since it also calms and reassures babies to be held so close, it diminishes crying and agitation during the day as well as during the night (Pediatrics Magazine, 1996).

Also, keeping the baby so close evidently help us to know her better and respond faster to her needs. That improves mom's or dad's sense of competence towards parenthood and reinforces their confidence.

Baby wearing in a tight vertical position is good for digestions, facilitates burps, prevents gastric reflux and diminishes colic. The rocking motion will favor a more stable sleep during and after Baby Wearing, stimulate a good sense of balance and contributes to psychomotor development.

Cost: $5.00 (or $8.00 for two adults of the same family)
